Well, if the relay checks out, too, you're down to the solenoid-starter assembly itself...
I always figure you can remove all other variables and see whether you can spin the starter with an external battery or not. No chance of it starting with no pressure on the fuel rail and no ignition.

I have bought this car from auction, so even engine spin would be a success. How can I try to spin the engine with external battery or maybe trying to jump 204 (I guess) relay? I'm not sure which pins to connect, trying to figure it out atm. Car is 1996 d2. Not easy to find info on it. So far I have found info about relay 207, but I don't have it.

Yeah, where are you? We didn't get the D2 until 1997, so I don't have service docs that would apply.

Did you do a search for the D2 V8 wiring diagram? somebody posted it quite awhile ago-- not sure if it was here or QW...
Does sound like either the solenoid's gone or you have a relay issue. Otherwise it should spin it over.

I'm from eastern europe. My guess is that it is imported from Germany. We did try to crank it without a relay. In that interconnet place there is also a connection for the starter solenoid with two wires. We connected one to the power and noticed the same click as before when just turning the igntion. So I guess I will need to get to the starter itself.

Sounds like that's next. The good news is that starter was used on a lot of cars, so you should have no problem finding one.

Bad news. There is a hole in the block. On the left side behind the motor mount. We couldn't see it from the bottom. Car also had oil and collant. Ahh, unlucky buy.
Car was confiscated from cigaret or drug smuglers and put in a car park. Then it was auctioned as is. **** me.

Ouch. Well, the spare motors are available from the breakers.... Or, if worst case you need to break it, the transmission alone should cover your cost.
