Ok i have 4 buttons and 2 wires that come from the wheel...
Do these operate like the old sony joysticks... example
each button has a resistor on it
Volume up = 120k Ohm
Volume down = 180k Ohm
Seek up = 260k Ohm
Seek Down = 320k Ohm
Where the 1st wire would have Vin then go though one of the buttons with the resistor and out to Vout..
Because i can make the steering wheel controls work for my computer, via the joystick port if this is the case...

....but you have five wires going across your steering wheel....two for the airbag, two for power and ground and one for a signal.
The switches on the wheel and the heated steering wheel control is controled through one wire that carries a signal from the PC board in the steering wheel, across the cancelling ring and to the wiring harness/radio.

The computer board is shown in this schematic ABOVE the red arrows, there is another one below it, which is on the steering column side of the wheel.

I can't answer your question, but I hope it helps!

and I have managed to loose my Bently in the move...it's in one of these boxes!
Just go to the radio section of the bently and you'll find it in the pinout.

Ok so there is 1 wire that comes from the steering wheel and ends up in the radio harness..
This wire is digital so there is nothing i can do to use it.. SO ONE THINKS..
I am going to rewire my steering wheel and hopefully not kill the horn and airbag.
1. Locate all the switch wires that go to the computer chip and cut them
2. Solder inline small resistors to each wire.
3. Link all the wires to the 1 output wire that goes to the radio.
4. Steering wheel is already grounded and run the input wire to each switch to the ground and the out put to the resistors and then to the radio wire.
So in theory i will have 1 wire that will have 4 different resistance readings. 1 for each button
1. I ground the computer port's ground to the cars ground
2. I run the output wire from the stering wheel to the input on the computer
3. Run a program called girder that will allow me to link movements or buttons to inputs of the port.
Is it this simple or am i crazy!

...but I might want a osiliscope when I did this.....but I don't think I would know how to use one anymore!!!
Good luck! Sounds very doable!
