Paul-
Definitely this will not work. As some others have said, the audio signal swings negative, so you will end up with a half wave rectified signal to the speaker.
My first thought would be to wire a double pole double throw relay that is normally closed (to activate the radio/nav system leg)while the activated side is set up to connect the phone to the speaker. I would wire a second relay to trigger the coil on the first. The second relay would energize based on the signal (a call has arrived etc.) from the phone. I am sure your V60 has a +5v (or something) signal for this purpose. Make sure to crow bar both relay coils with diodes, or use solid state relays so you don't fry anything.

but signal will have to be switched electronically, triggered by the source you want to here. Both coils on a DVC speaker have continuity. You can probably do it similar to
the way you switched the audio input for yur cd chgr and i-pod.

With all my other design work I have to do, I think I will go with the dual coil speaker.....unless I run out of things to do.
But I like your idea! Actually, there is already a relay for the phone cut off that the V60 energizes to mute the radio, I could use that for half of it, probably wouldn't be very hard. Thanks.

for each source. You must switch the input before the speaker, not use the speaker as a switcher. The only advantage to a DVC is multiple wiring options to allow different impedences.
For example, a speaker with two 8 ohm coils will yield 4 ohms in parallel and 16 ohms in series.

V60 "phone takes over" signal. I have used pretty cool high impedance solid state relays, that use 5v at just a few milliamps, that can switch pretty high wattage. If the v60 will give you 5v, you can probably go straight to the SS relay. If you want to go this route, I can find it in the Digikey catalog.
I owe you for the oil change instructions!

the bose speaker might be designed differently since its only purpose was to provide radio and phone integration..
