Default Strange gas smell with full tank of gas....

Can smell gas (noticably) when the tank is 100% full. After about 30 miles (spread out over a few days, or all at once) the smell is gone, not to return until the next fill-up.

Any ideas?

Default Have you had the fuel pump worked on or examined recently?

I had that same issue just after a fuel pump replacement. There are access panels to the pump inside your trunk and it turned out that one was just loose enough to let gas make its way into the body (and consequently make the trunk reek of fuel... which, in turn, made the smell leak into the cabin).

Does it smell worse in the trunk than in the cabin?

Also... I've been told never to fill up past the first "click" of the nozzle.

Default Pretty sure there's a procedure on that at Audipages.

It appears to be down at the moment.

Default Pulled the rug and found the access panel was off...

also noticed a large rubber O-Ring, but wasn't able to find where it came from.

Fastened the access panel back in place and haven't noticed any gas smell.
