Strange RPM
Hi Just bought 99 A8,did the transmision fluid change and took yesterday for longer drive(about 2h).Heres the problem:when i reach 40MPH and over,the engine RPM starts jumping about 200RPM(thats keeping constant speed).And it does that all the way up to somwhere 55MPH.Any ideas whats the problem and where to look for causes?Thank You in adavnce

You might be experiencing the hunting and thumping that D2's are famous for. Do a search.
on hunting or thumping and see if your symptoms match. If so, there may be a fix for you here on this forum.

They may be famous for the hunting but until someone or a bunch of someones gets Audi to recognize that the problem exits and researches a fix we will all be poorer for the experience.
