Stupid horn. I am so pissed off
Why doesn't the horn work when the ignition is off? It works on all my other cars. I was at a crowded Dunkin Donuts and I shut the engine off to save gas while my wife was getting a coffee. The person in front of me starts backing up coming closer and closer and no sign of stopping. I tried to HONK but NOTHING. The next thing you know bump. I jump out of the car and the woman takes off. Now I have her license plate screw imprints in my front bumper. What is the logic of horn not working while engine is off. Stupid

I hope you get her!
Tell me you at least got her license plates numbers along with the impressions of the screws? I would call the police and report a hit and run. You are looking at least a $500 plus bill to repair and paint. Damn, that would **** me off something fierce!

Re: You are right.. i dont know the purpose of that.....
The radio stays on? In the A8? Interesting. My radio doesn't do that. In fact, this is the only car I've owned where you have to have the key in the position right before starting (with everything lit up) in order to get the radio. I always thought that was really odd.

It shuts off w/ the motor, but can then be turned on.
That is how mine works anyway. After turning off your motor and removing the ignition key, try turning the radio on and see if it works. The power windows, sunroof, etc. also work for a minute or 2, unless a door is opened.

I'll be, it works! I had to depress the on/off button in order for the radio to turn on, and the auto up/down feature does not work on the windows. The only other odd thing I noticed was that when I opened the door, the radio was still going. Decided to play it safe and restart the car and shut it off again. Thanks for the tip!!
