Subtle front end clunking solved....
So, after rebuilding the entire front suspension/steering of the A-car a year ago, a minor, almost imperceptible clunk had started to surface. It was primarily when going over any kind of bump. When I had the whole trans/engine/subframe out recently, I was checking and inspecting each and every part of the front suspension. The only thing I could find was a bit of slop in the sway bar linkage bushings (the only part I hadn't replaced). When I put the car back together a couple of months ago, I ordered the new linkages, along with all new subframe and C/A bolts. This weekend, I installed all of the new hardware and the linkages. Problem solved! The car absolutely drives like new and the front end feels TIGHT over bumps. Oddly enough, it also improved the steering feel which had gained a hint of vagueness. No more! Tomorrow she goes to the dealer for a full alignment.
