Suspension Kits on EBay won't fit...

I just confirmed that the suspension kit (Meyle) for the A4/A6 that I bought off of EBay (seller in Colorado--winbigdaily) WILL NOT work on my 99 A8. The seller claimed that this kit would work. The forward upper arms are definitely not correct. According to Meyle distributor, other parts may be different as well. The price was great, but... I did find a local (Chicago) distributor for Meyle. Price- about $100 more at $599. But still cheaper than other places.

and the lower arms (straight and curved) are the same part numbers for the A6 and the A8, but the upper control arm part numbers are different. There is a seller that has the A8 kit on ebay for $599 including the new tie rod ends, and ECS tuning has the same set for $629. For $30 extra I'd go with ECS. If you have a problem with the seller in Colorado, let me know and I'll try to stop by.

I read where the original A4/A6 had:
"Front-Upper With Ball Joint...
*Original Units are Straight, New OE or replacement style have a bend"
Were the original A4/A6 straight arms the same for the A8? If thats the case these new curved ones may not look identical , but may still be the same fit.
What do you think?
