Default Suspension part numbers

Does anyone know what the last letter of the suspension part numbers mean(called modification numbers). Ive been looking at suspension arms from various sources. I.E the ETKA lists one arm for my car as 8E0 407 693 K and I have been offered 8E0 407 693E. I have a feeling the difference is material, mine being alu and the other being steel. Can anyone give me a clue?

Default The last letter in Audi part numbers is a revision number- the higher the letter......

the newer the revision. HOWEVER, just because the part is a newer revision doesn't mean that it will work for you vehicle! Be VERY careful about substituting part numbers on your Audi- sometimes it works, sometimes it isn't even close. Call a dealer to find out if the part number you have found is compatible with your model year.
