Default TB change in Boston/NE area.

I'm looking to have my timing belt changed some time this week. i just drove up from VA and was looking for a shop to do the job. I got a price quote of $440 from german autosport in Amesbury, MA. My brother had them work on his Passat and said they were a good shop. Anywho, is that a good price for labor? I already have the parts and i just need to have them installed. Are there any better shops for an A8?

Default wow give me a link

Should be close to 10 hours of labor, so if you can get it done in under that at a good hourly rate, go for it.

No warranty if you supply the parts, but it is worth the gamble IMO.

Just make sure the shop can handle a 4.2 V8, and replace the thermomstat and water pump when you are in there. I would also buy the 8 buck oil guage pressure sensor, mine failed at 120k and lost all oil!!

900-1500+ is the normal labor total for this job from what I see and hear in audi circles

hmmm, that interesting, i was told by the dealer that it would be a 5.5 hour job. As far as for them handling the job i guess that was my issue it seem like not too many shops have ever done a timing belt change on a A8, i guess i was wondering if anyone had any recommended shops to have the job done?
