Thanks to everyone for the advice on how to remove the viscous fan clutch.
I just finished and it took no more than 20 mins. I had my buddy hold the spanner wrench that holds the pulley while I cranked on the 32mm reverse threaded nut. Then everything came out and went back in very easily.
