Those small unsafe side view mirrors.

Am I the only customer who feels those rediculously small sideview mirrors used on every A8 and S8 since inception in 1996 need to be seriously enlarged so as to be useful? I've owned both A8 & S8 and never felt comfortable while on any highway.....turning my head before passing or pulling over was a necessity to do so safely. These mirrors are not appropriate for a fast touring car. Perhaps they have been changed for this model year.

Well, probably the passenger-side mirror used to be smaller because in Germany you're supposed to drive on the rightmost lane unless you're passing a slower car?
At least I think them sufficient for German Autobahns.
But Audi recognized that their cars are shipped to other countries, where the legal situation is quite different and so they changed the rear view mirrors together when they launched the facelifted D2.

And I've grown use to it. Works as well as any other car I've had...but it's got to be pointed way out, you can see the lane next to you no problem.
