Default For those in the snow belt, what winter tires are you running?

Model and size? Anyone stick with all-seasons and take your chances? I make occasional trips to the Sierras and I am trying to decide what to do with my spare 17's. They have next to new Falken ZX512s that I had in the snow last winter with decent traction. I have run many snow tires in recent years on past Audis and I am a huge proponent of them, believe me. Unfortunately many of my ski trips involve a 400 mile drive each way with only a possibility of a few miles of snowy roads at the end. This makes buying new snows hard to justify. I was thinking of trying to sell the Falkens on ebay and going for some new snows, but I doubt I could get too much for them as they only sell for $98 each (They have about 2000 miles on them at the most). I love the confidence of driving a quattro with snow tires though. Decisions..

Default Pirelli 210 Snowsport, 245/45-18 (5th season on this set)

Great traction on snow or ice. During hard cornering in the dry, though, you can feel that heavily siped tread squirming around (but that why they make summer tires).

Default Dunlop Wintersport M3's. 225/55-17 Factory 5 Spokes

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/55253/imgp0823.jpg">

Ran them last winter and was very impressed. I live in RI and drive 110 mi r/t everyday into MA with a fair amount of lousy winter weather. Very pleased with this setup. Although last winter was before I lowered the car so I'm hoping I won't be plowing too much snow this year!!!

Default I've bought Michelin X-ice 225/55-17. Not install yet. Drove 3 winter on Dunlop M3.

I hope Michelin X-ice will have more ice, snow traction than Dunlop M3 with worse on dry road condition.

Default Bridgestone Winter Slalom

That what my car was wearing when I bought her 3 months ago, seems like previous owner used them year around. We have hit -16 and seen some snow here in Alberta this year with lots more to come. So far tires show excelent grip and traction. Sometimes I have a hard time to make them spin on ice or snow, I have to slam the throttle hard in order to achieve that. Tires are S rated (I scared to take them faster then 210 km/h) and they are pre-drilled for studs. I will post some fresh pics. from this year snow driving soon.
