Default I would personally leave the Pilot Sports stock, no siping.

They are a great tire, and if siping were really that great the manufacturers would do it.

Default 2nd

It's a fine tire. I scared the crap out of D3AEight when I first got mine, demonstrating wet condition adhesion.

If you look at the link attached, it explains why MFG is not doing it.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sipers.com/sipers/siping_tests.asp.">http://www.sipers.com/sipers/siping_tests.asp.</a</li></ul>

Default I have the siped tires for a year, but didn't do any before and after tests .

I think when I was buying new tires I was just in the mood to waste extra $40.

Default Not a good idea.

The claim that "<i>siping will not adversely affect your tire's performance in any way</i>" is absolutely false. Our high performance suspension provides good feedback, and you will feel the additional flexibility of the tread blocks. When cornering aggressively in the dry, it'll feel like you're driving on marbles. In addition, that additional flexing results in additional heat in the tire. Aggressive cornering in the dry in the summer will overheat the tread and result in accelerated wear.

Siping definitely does improve traction on on ice and packed snow. If you want better winter performance, however, just do as skiracer said ... get a lower dry performance tire up front. The Michelin tires below are in order of decreasing dry traction and increasing ice traction (and siping). Go down the list and stop at the tire that best meets your needs.

In my own case, I'm switching from the Pirelli 240 Winter tire to the Pirelli PZero Nero M&amp;S because I'm unhappy with the performance trade-off that results from the siping.

Default They did my P6's and the tires on my wifes Subaru. Hardly drove in the..

snow this year, but it was fantastic in the snow when I did. I haven't noticed any negatives. I don't experience the marbles feel like on a snow tire. I think that comes from the softer sidewall as much as the siping.

Also most tire companies frown on siping and will void your warranty.

Default More thoughts...

I am thinking of those with the next set, I currently have Pilot Sport AS's but from what I am reading the new PZero Nero M&amp;S are getting better ratings despite being nearly half the cost. What about road noise? Are they quiet?
