Default Took Delivery Last Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2001 S8 silver with black interior, 19000 miles.

WOW is all I can say, what a difference between the S8 and my old A8. I still love the old '97, but this S is incredible. It is a lot more nicely appointed in the interior, although I must say that I will miss the radio controls on the steering wheel, but I guess it is a fair trade for 60 horses!

I have only driven it a few miles because I took delivery of it at 4:00AM!!! It was supposed to be delivered by 8pm yesterday, but the driver was stuck on I-80 in PA in traffic due to an accident and weather. Th truck also had to stop for a repair at a truck stop due to something with the air suspension, nevertheless it was delayed for numerous hours and had a dropoff before mine as well.

So..when my phone finally rang at 3:15am, the driver was near and I was UP...what a morning!

I have only been able to drive it from work (where it was dropped off) to home, and then back to work this morning....I am dying to get in it right now...., I am leaving early tonight without question!

This car is beautiful, it is unreal how much more aggressive and sleek it looks in person. It still smells like a brand new car as well, I am not imagining it either. lol

I will post pics asap, I have my digital, just need to figure out how to do it and they will be up. God I love this car.

BTW, anyone have Dunlop SP Sport 8000's on their car? That's what I have and I'd like to see what you guys think about them. Thanks!

Cheers

Default Boy, I hope you don't find arterial blood pouring from your ears!!!!

Could you be alittle more specific. . . you do seem to like it? Do post pictures for us since my blood pressure is alittle low this morning.

Default Congrats!

And I've seen your 97 before (think it was almost a year ago if not more), it wasn't in the greatest shape....you've got to be stunned with the S8!

The steering wheel radio controls are really nice on my 97....

I'm jealous! However, I'm thinking exhaust is my next mod! If I do that, I think I'll get the darn car repainted....no real reason to upgrade to a S8 at that point!

Hopefully we'll see you at Grattan this spring with it! We need another one there. Right near Grand Rapids.

Default That first pic of Grattan's Turn 3 is great. ...

It's hard to describe approaching T3 to someone who hasn't been there ... something like approaching the edge of the world at speed :-)

Default Congratulations, I can understand your enthusiasm. ...

The SP8000's were the first to go on my S8. They're a fair summer tire, but you can do better with either the Bridgestone S-03, Toyo T1-S, or the new Michelin Pilot Sport. The Michelin may be the best summmer tire for the moment. And the SP8000 is borderline suicidal on snow or ice.

Default Don't know where you live, but since you mentioned PA ...

You probably live where there is ice and snow.

Do yourself a huge favor and get snows, right away. Don't put all your faith in "Quattro" because all the balance and grace in the world CAN NOT SAVE YOU if your shoes are made of bananna peels.

Bridgestone Blizzaks .. WS50 for dead serious ability or LM22 for just serious ability.
