Tourag mini-light blows fuse

i bought a VW mini light and when I put it into the rear cig lighter it blows the fuse. Does not happen evry time but I don't understand why it happens at all. Any one with knowledge of such a problem?

Touareg, and you could probably bump the fuse up 5 amps and be ok, but I wouldnt go more than that
