Default Tozo/PaulW - Need help! tranny "limp mode"

So a year ago I went ahead and spent the money to get my trans rebuit. It came with a 12mo/12k mile warranty. 8 months later and 14k (drove alot for work this year) the trans started popping into limp mode, only in the morning, and only one or twice, then would go away for the day. Next morning it would do the same this. I took it back to the trans place that rebuilt it, and they noted that it would not be covered under warranty anymore, and I would be paying for the repair. I told them to go ahead (like I had a choise!) and troubleshoot. They first thought it might be the valve body, so they rebuilt that. Trans place called me back and said it was fixed. When I went to pick it up, it slipped into limp mode again, right there in the parking lot! I just left it and called him the next morning to continue his troubleshooting. He then replaced the input/output speed sensors and again said it was fixed. Once again I went to pick it up and it went into limp mode in the parking lot! Agin I left it, and called him back to figure out what the problem was. I had a hunch that it might be the F125 switch/plug as it looked like it was covered in grease/dirt when I first was under the car a year ago or so. I asked him to pull the plug and clean it with contact cleaner. He did so and reported back to me that the car was fixed. humm, 3 times a charm? I though it might be, when I picked it up it worked fine. I drove it all weekend and into Monday of last week. I was already trying to sell the car because I had purchased another a month ago (M3). Anyway, had like 100 calls on the car and finally was going to meet a guy today to sell, but when I went to jump into the 8 this morning to take it to work for the first time in a week & 1/2, it DROPPED INTO SERVICE MODE! What the heck?! I can't win. I've spent nearly 4k in a year trying to fix this mother bleepin' tranny, and its still not fixed. Needless to say, its not gonna sell like this!

Anyone have any ideas? I'm leaning towards the f125 switch, but I'm about ready to drive this thing into a lake.

Default How far from Chicago are you?

If you can find a way to get it to Tozo, you probably have the best chance of getting a reliable repair. Sounds very frustrating- best of luck w/ the repair and sale of your D2.

Default I would double check the fluid level first.

If it goes into limp only when it is cold (level low). If they fixed it and refilled when it was still hot, the level will be too low.
