The S8 is Silver with the Platinum interior and I chose the comfort seats. I got on the road and I headed north on the NJ turnpike toward the Lincoln tunnel. The highway ride is wonderful. The Dunlop 245 - 18-inch tires are much quieter than the Continental 225 - 17-inch tires. This was an unexpected and welcomed surprise. Then I was through the tunnel and at ground zero with the meanest in New York City. The city ride was firm but very acceptable. The ride is a bit lumpy while going slowly over large road irregularities. The road holding ability is drastically improved when compared to the A8. The brakes are much better than the A8 but they still feel luxurious. The ride is sporty and is more my style. The S8's motor sings to it's 7000-RPM red line. The S8 is geared very high. The S8's engine turns a bit over 3000 RPM in 5th gear while cruising at 80 MPH. I like this because while driving the A8 I found myself driving around in 4th gear to avoid the sluggishness of 5th.
