Default A tranny Dream...

So I was thinking about this the other day.....

The original S4's (92-96 vintage, later called the S6, only up to 95.5 in the U.S.) came with a 2.2 litre 20 valve turbo in the US, but in Europe they came with the 4.2 litre V8 with a six speed manual (droooollll...)

Do you think it would be possible to find either an original tranny (new) that is European spec or one in a bone yard over there and retrofit it to our cars? Let's see, would need the pedal assembly, master cylinder, slave cylinder and then be able to fit it to the engine, tranny mounts (probably have to be modified), drive shaft (or a new one made). Would have to look at the rear differential for ratios (I'm no genuis there) and any impact it might have by "open circuiting" the auto tranny software because you wouldn't need it anymore....

Do you think it could be done?

Paul

Default It costs approx 10K + your old tranny in trade.

This includes, wiring, firewall modifications, tranny ecu mods, the new trans, etc. Contact AMS in California.
