If so, what is your tranny code? You are in europe, correct? If so, you probably already have a more agressive coding than us in the U.S.

Yes I have VAG-COM but havent been able to find out the stock code, I followed your website instructions but that only mentions recoding, not finding the original code. I did notice a section that had five digits but all were zero, 00000.

Go to the auto transmission module, you will see this screen (this is not the auto transmission screen, but it looks the same):

If you say you see software coding of "00000" in the top left try to recode by choose recode-07 button. You will see a screen similiar to this:

Try recoding to 00010 by just editing the 00000 to 00010. Escap8's 3.7 A8 (1997 US Spec) had 00000 coding as stock and it accepted 00010. It seems to have made a difference in his shifting pattern. Try that and tell us what you think or if it will take the 00010 coding. It should.
