Default Tranny Service

Who was it recently that fixed their hunting problem by chaning gasket or something along those lines inside the tranny? I belive it was near Chicago and you were able to do the work yourself at your mechanics shop. I still have not heard the details of what it ended up costing you and if your mechanic was interested in letting others come there to fix their transmissions. For a fee of course <grin>... I am seriously interested in the details. Thanks!

Default Re: Tranny Service

TwinCitiesA8-- Many of us have had it done, and I was one who did. I spent $285 between parts and labor, and have to go back once more to check the fluid level to top it off. I have no more hunting since the service. I bought the fluid and the filter kit, and paid $162 for the labor at Formula Automotive in Mount Prospect, IL. I am sure there are lots of folks who can do it, but plenty who have failed to follow the letter of the PW procedure and caused big-time harm.
