Hi anyone,
On the german test report I found a note of a leaking trans. I checked the trans frequently on leakage but couldent find anything. I guess this means that the leakage will only occur while driving and in very small quantity. Could this be a leakage on the hydrolic pump or is there somewhere else on the trans it could leak while driving.
By the way, I diddent told the dealer ( yet ) that I found the note on the german papers, cause I will be blown away for blaming the dealer not filling the trans according specs.
Hope anyone has a clue what might be leaking.
Greetings,
archy

The output seal leaks, but it does not leak automatic transmission fluid, it leaks gear lube. It's the rear cavity that has the torsen differential in it.
The output shaft seal leaks....<a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/auto_transmission/transealreplacement.html">you can read about it here.</a>

Thanks Paul,
Will check for this, but would it explain short of trans fluid, or is the trans fluid filling the loss of gear lube.

By the way, isen´t it nighttime with you now?

This would not explain the short of trans fluid, that's a seperate cavity in the transmission.
I highly doubt that the cavities are leaking into each other. The output seal leaking is a common problem.

at an electrical connector in the side of the transmission. Repair required dropping the pan to replace two O-rings. I used the "opportunity" to have the tranny filter replaced.

Hi Randy,
thnx for reply. Leaking at an electrical connector would be obvious cause you'll see the leak on the trans. When I check the trans its dry, even at running at idle or after a drive. I will be able to check the output seal on wednesday cause my car is at the workshop to get a parking damage fixed. Last time at the refill at the dealer I've been standing under the trans almost all day and did not see any fluid comming from anywhere. So I guess it must be ony at running or in someway, when and if, the output seal is leaking it must be in a way connected with the transfluid.
Well see on wednesday,
