How do you know you need clutch B only?

My 4th an 5th gear wont engage. So I looked at a flow chart and thats the only clutch they have in common the other clutches run other gears that work fine

It is hard to determine if you need the clutch or seals or something in the valve body. The trans need to come apart to see what happened. Sometimes a trust bearing fails and causing the same problem.
