"Transmission Control Unit Incorrectly Coded"
hello everyone, been arround for some time just reading 'cause I'm drivng A6 C4 2.5TDI ...
however, some new deal is on the horizont, swaping that diesel (first one in my life) for a gaser with automatic transmission (that would be first one in my life too)...
so the princess is, you're guesing, '97 A8 4.2 quattro
I read a lott here about all the problems and, I must admit, most of common issues are packed into this baby
the stangest one is in the title and here is the copy of description
Control Module Part Number: 4D0 927 156 K A
Component and/or Version: G5 01L 4.2l4V RDW D32
Software Coding: 00011
Work Shop Code: WSC 02314
2 Faults Found:
18157 - Transmission Control Unit Incorrectly Coded
P1749 - 35-00 - -
... at the time of my first connection to TCU code on it was 00001 and same error apeared
so I've tryed some of the codes you proposed and 00011 is the only one that was accepted
... clearing the error, reentering TCU for error check, contact OFF and ON again, reentering TCU again and no error apeared ... so that's it I THOUGHT !! ... but few seconds after starting the engine transmission goes into limp mode and same d*** error reapears
offcourse, my carma is such that I get an error that is not explained in ross-tech wiki, 'cause no one had that one (obviously)
please, any idea on how & what to do would be most appreciated
I realy set my mind on puting her back in motion (she was parked for half a year now)
thank you in advance and sorry for making it long
