Hi all
I've been "lurking" & dealing with the same hunting problem as everyone else.
Could the problem be a simple as a dirty or partly intermittent Throttle Position Sensor?
How much does one cost?
Andy

I have done resistance checks on the throttle position sensor, and it was within specification.
However, I just bought a new Mass Air Flow sensor a few minutes ago.....$200 shipped....will try putting it on and seeing what happens.
Worse comes to worse, I'll sell it if I don't need it or just keep it on my shelf, that's a great price!
A lot of A6 owners have had MAF's replaced and the trannies work much better.....but it's different on our cars with out throttle cables versus their drive by wire.

Yesterday I learned there are two kinds of hunting.
I don't think we've ruled out the throttle position sensor for rpm fluctuations which continue indefinitely at light throttle but go away when you step further on the gas. If you have such, and are able to log TP sensor readings during the rpm fluctuations, you might see if seems to be participating in the cycle and if its readings seem reasonable.

Paul, any clue how much throttle position sensor is?? Where is it, anyhow??
My trans. rpm goes up and down when at about 1300rpm.
If you guys think it might work, I would try replacing throttle position sensor?
Could dirty injectors cause it??
Thoughts?? comments?
