Default I have never removed my glove box before. Before I go out there is there a how to?

I would like to look at this to see if these grounds could have given me the electronic issues from this spring.

These problems were:
Arming alarm/locking doors = lights only blinking on one side.

Alarm/keyless entry = not working at all.

Interior lights/puddle lights = not working.

Alarm has been fine, but I still have lights that are out, and sometimes the infamous rear disco lights which are annoying.

Default Paul W, my hero

Paul you are such a technostud! That was so cool of you to go over to King and check the place out. It does not look like much, but it is hard to beat the price, and this is the second trans they've rebuilt for me in my audi stable.

I am just totally impressed that you took the time and effort to go and talk to them-- to get the inside scoop on the cost breakdown, and go one step further to catch the recode to 011 and then the ground issue service bulletin. Too much. Audiworld should nominate PW for some sort of award-- suggestions?

Default First test drive....it's much better

But is that because the TCU was reset? I would think it was when I lifted the leads.

Just drove about 5 miles, 35-45 MPH in 4th gear. It really was greatly improved....no hunting. Went up to 48 MPH, shifted to 5th, then I slowed down to 44 or so, still worked perfectly.

We'll see, my fingers are crossed, but I'm still very skeptical, I think the TCU was reset at this point. Will try the highway tonight if I can.

Default The place looks like a busy tranny shop to me

There was a vehicle on every lift, and I think they were 8 deep and two wide with a big UPS type truck in the back.

If they are that busy, they must know something about rebuilding trannies.

levelten.com has reworked valve body for 798.00. But I hope it's just the loose bolt.

Default Funny thing, I have maintained interest

But have been busy this summer and we have discussed it so many times and I've wrote so much, and I just didn't have an answer, so I have been sitting back and watching.

You always learn something!

I would love to find the real technical solution to the problem.

Default HAHA.. well mine was perfect clean, no rust, nothing

perfect clean, I took each one off and also, clean with battery cleaner spray and put dilelectric grease on the blots and connectors. NOTHING still the same. but I did learn how to take the glove box out. Pretty easy 4 allen bolts.

It's the valve body. I've swapped back and fort them and the 97' was hunting right away.

Default If it is the TCU losing memory, we should run a relay off the ignition

to kill power to it everytime the car is shut down.
