Transmission Pan Leak

Transmission Pan Leak
Has anyone one experienced a transmission pan leak on a 2001 model. Had my car up in the air changing oil and I noticed a small leak on my pan. The one thing that seemed odd though was that most of the pan bolts seemed rusty and corroded yet there was one that was new looking. Do the bolts normally rust and corrode?

Re: Transmission Pan Leak
yep, but that won't make it leak, unless the heads rust off. the pan gaskets and machine work on the case and the pan itself impress me as very robust. try a pressed cork gasket if you want leaks.

Found the answer.
I really need to catalog all my A8 links into the forum, a la Stoney.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/74985.phtml</a

I've got a huge number.
I really need to start an outline, using the divisions in the Bentley, and put them all in it. They're already somewhat organized (Audi > A8 > Transmission, Engine, Body, Electrical, etc).
I could probably do it in a weekend, if I put my mind to it. I'm sure you'd be glad to host it, right?
