Default The Torque converter made by Sachs not by ZF. Now it is rebuilt by Dynamics.

The upgraded valve body that makes the big difference not the tranny itself. There are a few parts in the tranny, that can be upgraded, but they are not affecting shift quality, they break. (Clutch A housing and clutch F for lost reverse). My 02' tranny is great, but if I put my 97' valve body in it, it hunts like crazy even with the rebuilt torque converter.

Default Phil - Great News!

Good to know there is a quality shop out there.
BTW - I dropped off your 9 Qts of Tranny fluid, gasket and filter at Fed Ex today. You should have it soon so you are ready for your first fluid change.

Take Care Bro...

Default Prices for older A8's are quite pathetic...

I seriously doubt my '97 would be worth much over $8k (well, ok maybe more to the right buyer; the '00 armrests, nav plus, etc certainly add value). Ebay prices are significantly lower.

Default Here:

ranger, I'd love to come take a ride in your car. You're not going to Road Atlanta for the race this weekend, are you? If so, look for me.

European Transmissions

Default Ooops, I see it's already posted.

That's what I get, for posting before coffee, in the AM.
