The upgraded valve body that makes the big difference not the tranny itself. There are a few parts in the tranny, that can be upgraded, but they are not affecting shift quality, they break. (Clutch A housing and clutch F for lost reverse). My 02' tranny is great, but if I put my 97' valve body in it, it hunts like crazy even with the rebuilt torque converter.

BTW - I dropped off your 9 Qts of Tranny fluid, gasket and filter at Fed Ex today. You should have it soon so you are ready for your first fluid change.

I seriously doubt my '97 would be worth much over $8k (well, ok maybe more to the right buyer; the '00 armrests, nav plus, etc certainly add value). Ebay prices are significantly lower.
