Phil and Others:

Did European Transmissions upgrade the tranny on your A8 or simply send you a rebuilt one that made a world of difference?

My 1999 (86,000 miles) is downshifting hard as I slow for off ramps and the bump is back when I go down hills. Fluid was done at dealer about 10,000 miles back. Starting to look like rebuild time. Dealer wants ridiculous dollars but Aamco is reasonable and guarantees it for three years or 36K.

Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance!
