Although there are many turbo packages available for the smaller Audi's I was wondering whether there is a kit available for the A8 4.2 engine either in North America or one that could be shipped from Europe down here. If there is a package available a rough estimate of power gains and cost would be appreciated.

I was wanting information specifically regarding a kit with a turbocharger adn not a supercharger. Thanks anyways, and if anybody from Europe has any info on a kit that can be purchased a response would be greatly appreciated.

Hohenhester in Germany has been doing bi-turbo upgrades to 4.2 V8/A8s in Germany. Don't know of any sneaking over hear yet. There is a Candian lister in the Registery that talks of putting turbo's on his A8. There was an article on Hohenhester A8/S8 in the July European Car.

Think the tiptronics were limited to 400Hp due to torque limits on the tranny.

Just got an e-mail from one of the guys at Hoppenmotorsport and says that they are hesitant about importing the kit because of the complexity of the install and would probably only do the job inhouse. Said that it would produce 420hp in the A8 and 470hp in the S8 but will be less cause no manual tranny is available in the States

Have you heard of it being feasible to throw this kit it into a A6 4.2? Should be do able since same tranny and engine as the A8, but would there be a problem in terms of room for the kit in the A6's engine bay?
