Default UK: Bentley/erwin workshop manuals?

Ive got a 1999 4.2 40v facelift and I'm looking for a Bentley manual but unfortunately its not available anymore. They were first published as 2 large hardback volumes for £179? but the postage to the UK was over £200 !!!
They were also available on DVD for £80 or so but were withdrawn before I could buy one. Anyone know how i could get hold of one?
I did buy an online manual but it was really poor.... You get what you pay for.
Whilst looking on the net I came across erwin, owned by VAG, but they want 30 Euros a DAY to access a printable version and I doubt that my old printer would cope with it as I dont know how many pages are in this manual.
Has anybody used the erwin download PDF printable version and is it as good or better than the Bentley manual?
Like most people on this site, I refuse to pay the absolutely obscene Main Stealers prices charge.
Even TPS are charging £133 plus 20% vat for a g40 Hall Sender!
I recently had a cam belt change and had to drive 40 miles to Bristol to find a garage that knew what they were doing as I couldnt find anybody in Cardiff who was willing to take the job on so I need a manual in the glovebox to go with the car.
I recommend Dean at Allaudi in Bristol if youve got an A8.
