Default Update on my 97 A8 Fuel Pump Issues...

Well, I finally got the fuel pump in today. What a pain in the a**, but I got it in, and everything hooked up, and the car started right away after sitting for six weeks. I backed it out of the garage, and just let it idle for a few minutes. It idled great, but then things started to take a turn for the worse. I got in the car, and I couldn't rev the engine or it would stall. The check engine light was on, and the car started to stumble and then stalled. I was able to start it everytime, but then it eventually stalled. I pulled some codes:

16684 multiple cylinder misfire
16685 cylinder one mis-fire detected
18020 Electronic control module incorrect coding

I cleared the codes, and started the car again, and got the same codes. I monitored the cylinder measuring blocks to see the mis-fires, and there were 96 mis-fires detected on cylinder one, and 23 on cylinder two before the car stalled. Help Please!

Pulled the cylinder one coil pack out, and it was all corroded, as was the end of the spark plug. I swapped it with cylinder five, and got a cylinder 5 mis-fire. I also noticed that the the hose that attaches the coil pack to the spark plug was about an inch shorter on cylinder one than on five. Ordering a new coil pack I guess.

Default the pump holder wont be in the correct place or a drag hose will have moved

with these pumps it aint over till its over.
Did you follow the procedure exactly.
The foot of the pump positioning is all important

I must have done it a dozen times, before it actually just felt right and went into the proper position. I did the procedure exactly how it was described. If the mis-fire was due to the pump not being seated correctly, how come I can move the mis-fire from 1 to 5?
