I got my 4 upper/front control arms from Wendy today. Thought I could do both of them w/o removing the strut. As luck would have it,
the bolt head on the curved arm lined up perfectly with the spring as much as I tried
I couldn't get it out. Had to drop the whole strut assembly down. Ok, so I get that one.
The straight one looks like cake. No go. I can't for the life of me get the round end out arm out of the socket it's in. The bolt came out w/o a problem but the end just rattles around inside the frame. I looked for something else I could disassemble but it'a all welded. Also couldn't find any reference to the upper arms in the Bentley either. I put it all back together so I'm ok for now - ideas welcome...

I just had mine replaced on one side, didn't do it myself. The guy removed three large bolts that hold the plate that they bolt into. The bolts are under the hook, one is under the plastic cover by the master cylinder.
