I had T-moble which sucked...no reception but switched to Verizon and it works great. T-moblie has GSM technology and I think Verizon is on that CDMA which has a serious effect of reception.

you refer to the windscreen and then the solar shield. What exactly is the wind screen you're referring to? Sorry, I'm just not following. Are you speaking of the film between the glass panes?

Hello,

Check to see if your car has the old-style "warm weather package". Not all
A8s had it. I see that you live in the Northeast, and your locale wouldn't
require the package which includes the solar-reflecting coated glass.

As a side note, Audi no longer imports cars to the US with the coated glass
because of complaints from pocket phone users (the phones don't work inside
the cars so equipped). This includes southern destination cars with the
"new" "warm weather package".
