vag serial vs usb

which vag should i order for a 97 a8Q? my laptop supports both usb and serial. also do i need the pro unit or the basic one? thanks

I would get a USB hex com

You saw my USB twin com, which is used for the D3 and newer A4's. That one is more pricey though.

thanks but do I really need it?? I have no plans to upgrade to a new car for aleast the next 3-5 years. so would the basic usb one be fine??
