Valentine 1 Hardwire Experience
So, decided to hardwire the V1 in the S8 after mounting up under rear view mirror for awhile to see if I liked the location.
Love it!
Followed the procedure around the board by using the fuse tap into the fuse box.
Used the 10 mm bolt next to fuse box for ground.
Ran the flat cable included with V1 through the headliner and along the pillar - used a couple of flat scrapers to assist. Took no time at all.
Used the included V1 accessory harness - had to change over the male hot connector to a female for the fuse tap.
Used the 5 amp fuse for Navigation - I think it's in the third bank (yellow)
Now, car turns on - V1 lights up. Turn car off - V1 turns off, leave without hiding the V1. You can't really see the unit unless you are looking closely.
Highly recommended. Total cost? About $4 in wire parts (plus the V1)
