Default vent noise at shut off

I have been hearing some kind of noise that comes on every time I turn the car off. It seems like some kind of electrical motor doing something for about 2-3 seconds after the ignition is turned off. It comes from the vents or that general area. Possibly flapper motor or the AC compressor shutting down? Anyone else heard that before?

Default There's a hissing noise ...

as the freon in the AC system equalizes pressure. This is normal - is it what you're hearing?

Default Run the AC in Econ mode for a minute before shutdown- does the noise go away?

If so, then what you are hearing is what ryoung stated- the compressed coolant in the AC system continuing to flash across the JT valve (orifice) until the pressure equalizes. This is normal.
