I believe that resets the throttle position sensor.
I don't think there is a way to completely turn off the DSP. If you recode the tranny to sport it shuts down most of the DSP (computer??) but there are multiple solenoids that feed info that aren't shut down.
At least that is what I learned from reading older posts. I could be wrong.

This bulletin board is great stuff. In such a short time I was able to receive couple of possible solutions. I'll try them step by step until this (currently) tiny issue is solved.

SOLVED!!! total cost $4.5
Hehe,
2 bottles of fuel injection system cleaner $ 2.25 each and 300 kilometres later the vibration is history.
On Friday I saw another A8 in a distance and did some speeding to catch it up and on Saturday went to buy local newspapers. I could not believe my guts, the vibration was totally gone. Today I did 50 km confirmation ride and yes vibration is history.
