I've done a bit of research on this and for all speakerphone systems, the type of phone you use seems to affect what you hear out of the speaker. Nokia phones are the worst from what I can tell. I am using an HTC now for my V60 puck, and it sounds fine. Still can't change the volume during a call however. With my Nokia I can barely hear the caller, useless. If you're having volume issues try some of your family and friends' different phones and see if that changes the volume.
