Default Want to lower my A8

I wanted the lower the ride height on my 1999 A8. I am having a hard time finding springs for our cars. Can I just change the springs or do I need to replace the shocks also.

Default If you change the springs, you need to replace the dampers as well....

if you want to maintain a balanced suspension. The options that current forum members use are the H&R coil-over system (myself included), and a combination of Billstien shocks with lowering springs. If you just replace the springs, then you will lose some of the suspension's capabilities and performance.

Default Hardware wise, about $700 for Bilsteins shocks with Eibach springs, $1400 for H&Rs

plus somewhere around 4-5 hrs labor. Like Skiracer said you do really need to change out both or you'll lose a lot of ride quality.
The improvement in handling and ride makes it well worthwhile though.
