Default Well sad day for me BUT....

Might be a happy day for someone else....
It is time for me to sell my beautiful 01' S8.
After owning this car for a little over 7 months I have come to realize that I do not need something this special. I decided to purchase this car because my career was taking me towards sales. Right now I am running a warehouse, and it is not very conducive to what I do. In fact I feel bad because I am filling the trunk with packages, and buying items that you would need to run a warehouse. Basically making a huge mess in the trunk.
I really don't think you will find a cleaner S8 in California. It only had about 19K miles on it when I bought it, and I only added about 8K more to it. I am the 2nd owner, and the original owner barely drove it a stored it in a garage.
It has a 3 year, 36K mile warranty & I installed a 20 gig Phatbox in the trunk.
Please contact me if you're interested.
I am asking for 29000.00, which is way over KBB but this car is immaculate, not one scratch either.
I had a pleasure reading and sometimes replying on the boards. I am going to miss this boards unique and witty style.
I know one thing, if I ever buy a sedan again it is going to be a Audi.
Ford to Audi convert,
Simon

Default It WAS a rude response to your OP, but $29k might be kinda high.

The low miles increase the value, but you're essentially asking for a 30% premium.

I got my '01 S8 with every option except Alcantara and 54k miles for $21.5k two years ago. '01s with similar miles are now going for $19k-$20k. I think $29k is going to be a stretch.

Still, it looks like a great car and I wish you the best of luck selling it.

Default If you are running the warehouse you are the CEO. Keep the car.

KBB and its clones tend to be optomistic as to pricing.

Do you want a truck that gets no better mileage? What's an appropriate vehicle for carrying warehouse stuff in the trunk, anyway?

A truck is what I am looking for, I don't need a luxury sedan. I am the CEO, CFO, whatever you want to call me, so a smart move would be to ditch the luxury sedan and get a truck. Gas mileage is not the problem, hauling big, dirty boxes around is.

Default keep the A8, use it on weekends to haul the family/wife/girlfriend in..

they don't want to be dragged around town in a dirty truck.

honestly though... $29k will buy an '05 A8... you'll be hard pressed to get $19k (no way possible to get $29k even for someone desperate for an S8), these cars just don't hold their values, regardless of condition/mileage.
