Default Those darn rubber squeezy things on the end get clogged with leaves

Thanks for posting that, I've noticed my car is holding a bit of water under the hood in the middle. I'm going to put the Y pipe - drain back without the rubber squeezy things.

But I did just pull the small ones out of the fender wells. They're totally useless and my car is now a little bit lighter in the front!

The two inside on the trans tunnel, I cut the squeezy things off and reinstalled them.

Default

Are you saying pull out the entire Y pipe and leave it out?

Default Can you get to the big drains from under the car?

I might just clean this during every oil change.

Default I personally could not reach it from under the car.

The tranny is in the way.

Default I personally would just pull it and leave it out.

I had a similar problem with a 1991 BMW 325. The consensus fix is to pull the drain and leave it out. Other people just cut the restriction end off leaving the hose open ended. Take your pick. b

Default Drain Cleaner?

I wonder if it would hurt to just pour a few ounces of toilet cleaner in there from time to time. Maybe some of that enzyme stuff.
