I was thinking of stripping the paint off the rims over the winter and trying my hand at polishing them to look like the 20" OEM Polished rims. IS this do-able? what kind of work is involved in polishing a painted wheel?

I believe they are actually anodized so stripping the anodized finish might be a bit more difficult. After that, it is just buffing aluminum - a tedious time consuming PITA. you might want to clear coat by paint or powdercoating after they are just so to keep them that way with a minimum of fuss.

I had a couple sets powder-coated and they held up very well in winter use. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
