Wheels bent again

I've been running on these 17" 5-spoke factory A8 wheels for a while. I've spent the past summer in NYC and that totally bent all my wheels. 2 of them has been causing a lot of vibration and I moved them to the back. I just wonder if there are stronger wheels (something cheaper than the Fikse's) that are more durable.
Oh and I'm looking for 2-4 17" factory 5-spoke wheels if you have any sitting in your garage. Anyone?

I had the same concernt when i started my job in jersey city. I Stuck with the factory 16 inch 5 spoke wheels. They are very durable and i was able to fir a nice size tire on them. I hit some pretty bad roads and have never had a problem. I am running 255/50/16.
Keep your eye out on ebay they usually have stock 17's going on for a decent price.

They are forged. I have a set for winter, but I think I might just get some all seasons on my summer wheels and run them in the winter......

Now I'm suspecting it's my tire --- I run them on 255/40/17 for my A6 4.2, wrapped with ContiExtremeContact. These tires seem to be extremely harsh on rough roads. Now I'm running Goodyear F1 D3 and it's just not as rough a ride on bumpy roads. Oh yea I have to blame all these potholes on First Ave in Manhattan, even in the summer.

That's a super low profile tire on the wheel.
A 225/55/17 is correct for the A8, which is about 1.2" larger in diameter versus your 255/40/17.

Obviously the short sidewall makes the wheels vulnerable to pothole damage, but tires with that ultra small overall diameter must look very strange on an A8.

A8/S8 Tire Options
