When I drive, cruisin along, and hammer the throttle, I hear the tranny make a noise-like a slap

Any ideas as to what it is. You can hear something engage like a clunk but it sounds like a slap to me. Is it normal?

How bad is the noise? Do you have other transmission problems? What year is your car? It may not be a big deal or it could mean that you'll need to rebuild your transmission at some point. Kinda hard to diagnose remotely.
Do a search on "hunting and thumping". And see if you have any of those symptoms.

The only other thing I can think of is to check the tranny fluid.
1. Make sure there's enough in there and it's not burnt.
2. Maybe change the tranny filter.
3. Or you could just leave it alone.
