Where can I get fuel pump removal tools?

Default Forgive me but I don't understand. Look at tozoM8's post above^^^ and take a look at the pic.

I believe the basket has to be removed, no?

I've used a screwdriver and a wrench (as a hammer).

...pulling the pump out of the basket *inside the tank at the bottom*, which (on the C4) requires special tool / gyrations.

Different spot. We're talking about the large locking ring on the top of the assembly and the white plastic 'twist-off' top on the fuel delivery element... all way above the basket. And essential to remove before you even get access to the basket tucked deep in the bowels of the tank.

We got both off without special tools, but YMMV. Tozo "Lord of the (Four) Rings" has the best technique, sans special Audi tools.

We also got ours with a blunt tool (to not tear plastic) and light rap with ball peen hammer.
