Three years ago, I wanted to replace my wife's car and looked for a used A8. Ended up with a 98 in great shape for a great price. Everywhere I looked in this area of Michigan, (autotrader, ebay, CL and local ads yielded a ton to choose from.

The A8 has been my wife's car and our trip car. After totaling my A6 Avant, I'd like an A8 too. I'm looking for a 2000 to 2003 A8 (L?). They seem scarce as hen's teeth. Any thoughts?

I think people looking back on the facelift D2's like the timeless understated look, the prices now and the relative simplicity of them compared to newer models.
When I bought my '01 6 years ago, the closest one I wanted (and bought) was over 800 miles away.
Nationally I only see 4 right now on ebay, but found 59 listed on autotrader (2000-2003).

Thanks, I'm really looking for 2000 or newer and Jersey is a little far for me. I spent a lot of time there as a teenager when i lived in philly. It brings back memories of the "underwood hotel".

Hey im in the STL, Missouri area and i'm selling my 2000 A8. its got roughly 125,000 miles and has been highly maintained with a new (within last 10,000 miles) timing belt, spark plugs, brakes, rotors, rear calipers,tires, battery and most control arms have been replaced(including tie rod ends)

I'm willing to trade or sell, i'm in college and the gas mileage isn't helping with my college debt! I'm going for a 4 cylinder or 6 at the highest.
