Why do I have a slight whine after transmission service?

I changed the fluid and filter on my S8 last weekend. Used Valvoline MaxLife and Audi filter. Noticed a slight transmission whine and promptly re-checked the fluid level (@approx 40 deg C). Still have the whine. I'm a little paranoid. Car has 72m miles on it and I think this was the 1st time fluid was changed. Any ideas??

It's VERY specific as to trans fluid temp, level, drain refill, etc. I would strongly recommend parking the car until you can verify that you did it properly.
It goes without saying that if it's making a noise post-fluid change that it was not making before, something is wrong. These transmissions are crazy expensive, so proceed with caution.
Unless you want me to get you a new S8.![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

hopefully you still have it. They are different lengths and people get the wrong ones all the time.

From what I understand, these transmissions are SPECIFICALLY designed to work with the original ZF fluid ONLY. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I swear I've read this many times, and was also told that by the fellow who rebuilt my unit.
I had my transmission rebuilt about 3000 kms ago, The oil they used was around $300-400.
