WINDSHIELDS, and replacement thereof.
I have the Xray proof windshield with my '98 Hot Weather package. It really deadens the detector range. Is aftermarket solar glass really as effective as my existing in keeping heat at bay? Were there 2 windshields from Audi? One for Hot Weather package and one not? Is aftermarket LOF or PPG as good as OEM? Should I even have the thing replaced just to rid myself of 10 years of sand blasting? How much more can I worry over this? What are everyones thoughts or answers?

Good questions/answers. I'm contemplating the same thing...
My V1 doesn't work at all in my '97 with the WWP(warm weather package-checked the original sticker I still have) front windshield.
Been walking past a BMW 7series at school lately, and I can see the square section of the window that doesn't have the superduper xray protection for detectors/toll transponders, would be nice to have that.
Have you gotten any replacement prices on the original windshield?
