Winter Rubber Mats For D3 A8L
I've contacted two dealers in the NY/NJ area to order winter rubber mats and it seems that the mats for the '04 A8L have not made it into the dealer network yet. However, I've found them on the Audi of America website available for purchase...what gives?
According to one dealer parts department, there is an on-going litigation involving rubber mats for some models because of owners placing them ON TOP of the cloth mats and then getting into accidents because the rubber mats had slid under the brake pedal. This is after the warnings on the rubber mats that they are to be installed without the cloth mats!
Anyway, if anyone knows what's going on please let me know! The salt and slush are killing the cloth mats. TIA and in the interest of saving bandwidth, feel free to e-mail me privately.

I have 'em as well...
got them from Clair Parts: 800 354-5100
Have had them since Oct. '03. They will be used all year as they are just that much nicer.
Take a look (link below):<ul><li><a href="http://homepage.mac.com/jhyoo/Apollo8/PhotoAlbum19.html">All Season Rubber Mats</a></li></ul>

Ive had them since Nov. and I love em`
Whats left to litigate? Good grief! The rubber mats wont even fit properly if placed over the oem ones. There should be NO problem ordering these through the dealership.

Thanks for all the input and the tip on Clair Parts.

There are three kinds of trunk mats...
First is the one i have. it's abit flimsy b/c it's made out of foam - does its job but not really as nice as i thought it would be. Costs $54
The second (Part#: ZAW 452 500 BLK) is the textured plastic one. Looks nicer. they didn't have this when i ordered. Cost is $109
Third is a molded carpeted tunk mat with cargo management (Part #: ZAW 380 500). Audi Collections Catalog says it is a rubber mat covered by a nylon carpet. Also has a logo. Cost is $95.
Choose either the second or third.
Good luck!
